Town of South Bruce Peninsula Press Release from Sept 02 2014

Sauble Beach Land Claim – More Time and More Information is Needed!

For Immediate Release as of September 2, 2014

Town Council Needs More Time and More Information

Regarding the Sauble Beach Land Claim

In response to the meetings held on August 6th, South Bruce Peninsula Town Council wishes to assure residents that additional time will be permitted for public consultation and no decision will be made prior to the Municipal Election that would permit the transfer of Sauble Beach.

When printed information is circulated in the future, Council will ensure that such information will be sent by ‘personal addressed’ mail (similar to the tax bills) or included as an insert with the tax bills. Media releases may also be issued, and taxpayers are encouraged to monitor the Town’s website for such information.

Council wishes to thank all residents for taking the time to attend meetings, provide comments and to ask important questions. Council will continue to research this very important matter; and questions will continue to be forwarded to the Town solicitor for a response; and pending legal advice, these responses will be posted on the Town’s website.

Now our new council should be able to spend the time needed to get us the answers we need, before making a decision on this crucial matter.
